Michele, welcome back! Thank you for all your help. Like I mentioned in the previous posts while you were gone, Emma has turned the corner and is sleeping independently (for the most part). But, I did have a question regarding wake to sleep...

At daycare, Emma gives her at least one long nap in the day (1.5 - 2 hrs). This is usually in the afternoon from 12:30 - 2:00 PM. The rest of the time in the mornings, she's doing catnaps. (Darn! Still working on that short napping problem.) Anyway, should we try wake to sleep or is that more for short napping at habitual times? Everyonce in a while, she'll give me a long nap in the morning, but it's rare. Is wake to sleep only if she wakes up at the 45 minute mark? Emma is inconsistent. She wakes sometimes after 30 minutes and other times after 45 minutes.

so glad Emma is doing so well!  W2s really works best when the waking is at the same time during the nap (always at 30 min or always at 45) if the wake time varies, its tough to do w2s, since you don't know when she'll wake during the nap.  If her naps are inconsistent, it' probably more developmental than anything else or just blips in her day.  Does that make sense?

Michelle- Glad you are back!
I agree with you that it could be developmental. Last week Isafara's naps were great! At least she had twice 2 h naps a day.
Then this week she napped very short again.. Suddenly it looked like that she couldnt fall asleep on her own. It had been going on for 4 days and made me crazy. DD1 was sick and needed me. I couldnt be at 2 places at one time...
Luckily today was much better. Her first 2 naps were 1.5-2 h.

I did notice though that she woke up or made noises after 45 min mark. But then she was able to put her back to sleep again...

Yes, all makes sense, especially since Emma's naps are all over the place. But she gives me long naps here and there, so I never have a consistent schedule, and I'm sure daycare causes her to have a lot of bleeps in her day. Cinta, hope DD1 feels better soon!
