Would you wake from nap?
« on: July 08, 2008, 17:17:31 pm »
My dd is 19 weeks old and we are working toward the 4 hour EASY. She wakes at 7 and goes down at 9 but only sleeps 45-1 hour. Then she goes back down around 11:30. This 11:30 is the trouble. Two days a week we are at ice skating with ds and the nap is 45 minutes. Then she takes a 1 1/2-2 hour afternoon nap.

So my question is when we are home the rest of the time should I wake dd at the 11:30 nap to keep it 45 minutes in favor of a long afternoon nap? It has worked a couple times but always makes me nervous.

I know my goal is to get the first morning nap to be longer but I have been unsuccessful with doing that. She has taken short morning naps and a long afternoon one for quite some time.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

hi
she may be ready for slightly longer A times in the morning to get that long nap.  45 - 1 hour naps usually mean UT.  maybe stretch by 5 or 10 min first thing and see what happens.  sounds like she is ready for the 4 hour EASY and if you switch to it now this may help your nap issues.
