Sippy cup question/survey

Hey everyone -

My DS has used the Playtex sippy cups with the handles (I think they're called First Sipsters) since he was around 11 months old, and now he drinks from them all day.  He loves to drink his juice, water and milk from his cups.  He holds them with one hand while he reads a book or whatever with the other hand.  I am so glad he's getting all the milk and liquids he needs without any fight at all... but I have a question.

These cups say they're for up to 12 months old, and DS is about to be 15 months.  I've tried giving him the regular Playtex ones that are the same shape spout but harder, and they don't have handles... and he will use it for a few sips and then get annoyed with having to use 2 hands and refuse to drink.  Is there any reason I should force the issue, or just let him drink from the ones with handles?  I'm leaning towards the latter, because I think there's better things to "fight" about, but I was wondering if anyone had any powerful arguments against the ones with the handles now that he's getting a little older...

My thoughts are if it isnt broke dont fix it.So if hes drinking well with the ones with handles i would let him go ahead.

Sippy cups are all just as good as each other and just as bad for the teeth. Brush his teeth very regularly, if he shows signs of bottlerot or something, switch to cups if the dentist says that. If not, stick with them.

My LO is 13 months and still loves the two-handled sippy cups as well. I have tried the bigger ones with harder spouts but I think he is so used to the softer spouts that he doesn't like the hard ones. I've only tried the bigger cups a couple times but haven't pushed it as I think it's fine to still use the other ones. I do have some straw sippy cups that he just loves so you could maybe try a straw cup too if you wanted.

Nuby makes a cup that is smaller in the middle.  Like an hourglass, he might be able to hold it with one hand.

Thanks for everyone's advice.  I am just going to stick with the ones that are working just fine for us for now... He starts at a new "real" day care (not the sitter's house) in a week and a half, so I'd rather send him with cups I know he'll use there!
