Sleep for 7.5 week old
« on: August 04, 2008, 16:18:17 pm »
Hello!! I'm new to this website and would like some advice please!!!! My lo is 7wk 3d and has been feeding 6oz every 3 hours for a few days. He has always been a good feeder and weighed 8lb 1oz at birth and weighed 11lb 11oz last Tues at clinic. I'm concerned that I am over feeding but he drains a bottle and is never sick. Currently sleeps 7.30-8pmish - 10.30pm. Then a dreamfeed where he only has 2-3oz and wakes around 3-4am and 6-7am.  ( bottle fed exclusively). His naps are differnet every day and sometimes only sleeps 3 45mins all day!!!!!
Twice last week he went til 5am and 5.30am after the dreamfeed but seems to have gone back to 3am?!!!

Hi there - I have split your post from the topic that you originally posted on, as that thread was nearly three years old and this way you will get more viewers.

You are absolutely not overfeeding if he's draining the bottle and not getting sick. :)  You're doing really well!! A lot better than we were when Colin was that little. It's normal to have some irregularities in sleep at such a young age. He still has a lot to learn in general but especially about sleep. Babies work on organizing their daytime sleep first from 0 - 3 mo and then move on to night sleep from 3 - 6 mo.
