My son went through the same thing and began refusing formula.  Finally at 6 months my pediatrician recommended goats milk (he also said that it was typically shunned by the medical community but he has seen baby's thrive on it).  My son is now 8 months and has been drinking goats milk for the past two months and is doing great.  The only thing we had to add was an infant multivitamin because goats milk does not have the folic acid that they need.  You can get it in a health food store in liquid form and then mix it with their food in the morning.

I forgot to add in the previous post that my son also takes prevacid 15 mg at night right before bed.  He always took the prevacid but since starting the goats milk he stopped throwing up and does not appear to be in pain anymore.  I see him reflux once in awhile but it doesn't seem to bother him now (so its still there but its not a problem).  He is also allergic to cows milk and cannot even eat teething biscuts or babyfood with milk or soy in them without having a reaction.  I think we just have to make them as comfortable as possible until they outgrow it.

Well we're well into the swing of things with our Lactose free milk and he's loving it. We're off the Infant Gaviscon and there's no negative effect - hurrahhhhhhhhh

I am going to do more foot stamping on Monday and request it is allowed on perscription as it's more expensive and can be allowed if the doctor approved (well may as well ask eh?)

Bubba is happier and smiles a lot now - he's even developing a chuckle now he's 12 weeks+
