how long to give 13 month old to settle down to sleep

my 13 motnh old will play for a while before she falls asleep for her naps.  Sometimes it goes on for a long time, how long do I  leave her in her crib before I just go get her and assume she has skipped her nap.

I'm bumping this over to Toddler Sleep - that's where we like to keep posts about bubs over 1 year. 

Is she on 1 nap or 2?  If she's still taking 2, my guess is she's ready to start the switch to 1.  If she's on 1 nap, you may want to look at extending her A time a bit.
