Crying upon waking---everytime!!!
« on: October 06, 2008, 18:10:04 pm »
just a general question

does anyone know why my little man cries every single time he wakes up???

doesn't matter if it's a nap, if it's after a 12hr night....always always wakes crying.

he isn't ot.  nor is it teething....it really has been happening forever!
doesn't matter the nap length or night length.

pretty sure he doesn't hate his bed, however is one of those kids who doesn't want to leave the action.

does he cry when waking to get back out to the action????

gosh, i really am lost on this one......i just feel like i put him in to sleep cuz he was unhappy or grouchy...but he still wakes crying and crappy!  anyone experience this?
can i fix it??

it just makes me so sad for him to sleep for 1.5hrs or 12hrs and still wake crying!

{{hugs}} hun.  Both my boys were like this.  Good news is that they both grew out of it.  Bad news is that Isaac has just in the last month or so started waking babbling/talking instead of screaming.  (Don't remember when it was with J.)  After I'd get them, they would be fine, but they wouldn't be "fine" on their own.

Mine was like this too.  Around 15-18 months he got so he'd go in cycles.  For weeks he'd wake happy; then he go back to unhappy for a few weeks, then happy, etc.  Now (at 2.5) he almost always wakes happy.  Never found a solution--just maturity.

My dd was like this to. When she was about 15 months I would go to her door when she woke up crying and from behind the closed door I would say "Say Mama and I'll come in!" If she kept crying for more than 20 sconds without saying mama, I always went in. But after a couple of days of this, she started calling me instead of crying, although for a long time it was a whiny "mama". She is still whiny and cranky after naps but is now great in the mornings calling me.
