9 month old fighting naps
« on: October 03, 2008, 16:05:21 pm »
Hi there. For the past week my 9 month old is fighting her naps. It's been taking her about 10-30 minutes before finally falling asleep. Once asleep, she'll sleep for 1 1/2 - 2 hours. She used to be so easy. I would change her diaper, rock her a little and put her down. Now she really starts screaming as soon as we go in the room. Any suggestions? Here's our typical schedule

6:30 wake
7:00 formula then solids
9:00 or 9:15 nap for 1 1/2 hours (typically)
11:00 formula then solids
1:30 nap for 1 1/2 to 2 hours
3:00 formula
5:30 solids
6:45 formula
7:00 bedtime

Thanks.

If it's taking her so long to fall asleep, I'm wondering if she's ready for more A time.  By her age, most bubs are doing 3-4 hrs of A time, so you may want to try extending her A time, just by 10-15 min every 3 days or so and see how that goes.
