So do doses of the food matter in an allergy or only in intolerances? Or both?
After the toothpaste reaction I had my son on just Squash and Neocate to help clear him up again, but his eczema, congestion, and soft stools were still there, not nearly as bad, but still there. Out of curiousity I took him off the squash and he cleared up completely. I tried sweet potatoes over the last few days and he's still clear and his stools are more solid. When he was on the squash it was really really soft, sometimes runny but no mucus, and he still would have some bumps on his face and a bit of congestion. I don't think it's a HUGE reaction, and I don't think I noticed it before because I would only give him the squash once a day, if that, in rotation with sweet potato. But the last week I've been giving it to him twice a day and he had these lingering symptoms.
So, Wednesday I am going to give him the squash again to see what happens, so I know for certain. And this time I'll give it to him 3 times in a day, because perhaps it has to do with how much he gets? Especially considering that jarred baby food is like half water anyway.
