Ouch, not nice. Honestly I would give it a few days then call it quits and say it hasn't worked, thus it wasn't due to the first nap. The other option is to go the other way...could be really really OT and needing extra daysleep? It's really really hard to work it out, and often it's trial and error.

Are you needing to go into him at the EWs, have you tried just leaving him be (if he0s not unhappy) ? I say this because early morning sleep is a very light sleep so he may just need longer to get back to sleep. On that note, have you checked out everything to do with the room? Too much light? too hot? too cold? a noise? something waking him?

I wish I could leave him - but he's right next door to his brother and the wall is like paper. Even when he's happy he's really noisy and at that time in the morning he's very likely to wake his brother up. As a consequence my older DS is now totally OT himself from being woken up too early too many times. AAARRRGGHHH!!!

So Joe just woke early from his second nap and is very miserable - will have to try and get a catnap in this afternoon somehow otherwise we'll be in for another terrible night! Not sure if I can keep this up!

Oh hun BTGTTS! (been there got the t-shirt) There's no way you can change the sleeping arrangements? Like have older DS in the room with you? Just for a few days to see if be allowing DS" to get on with it, he sorts those EWs out himself?
