30 month old waking at night, please help!
« on: December 31, 2008, 16:08:37 pm »
Hello all,
I recently transitioned my son to a "big boy bed." It has been going well and he has learned that he must stay in his bed until the morning. However, he has been waking 1-5 times per night asking me turn his music on (the music box that was on the crib and is still in his room.) Finally, I told him the music was broken and now he asks me to come in and "tuck him in."  When I don't respond immediately, he says "tuck me in please" and will continue to ask.  Any recommendations on how to get him to put himself back to sleep? Thanks in advance!

Agree with mukta....you can always use wi/wo if you feel he doesn't need you to be there physically

We transitioned DS to BBB when he was about 28 months and it disrupted his sleep for months.  He'd stay in bed most of the time, but wake up and call much more often than before.  We had to do wi/wo and eventually a sticker reward chart for nights that he didn't call for "silly" things.  In his case his lovey was too small and he couldn't find it in the bigger bed with the blankets etc so we actually had to get him attached to a bigger lovey  ::)

If you are consistent, it will work eventually!
