Most babies drop the catnap around 6 months, so she might be approaching that point.  At 5 months most lo's can stay awake for 2.5hrs, so maybe try W7, N 9.30-11.30, N 2-4, and 6.30/7 bedtime.

The 15 mins extra a time in the morning should get you a longer nap.  So you can push the day as backwards as possible.

Ok - here's what I think.

Firstly, she's not getting enough milk. She should be having between 6-8oz 5 times a day - so milk every 4 hours and dream feed at 11pm to get her through the night. I know you've said she;s not hungry but I know from my own experience that hunger is usually the reason they wake up during the night - they may not be screaming for a feed, but if they're a bit peckish, it can be near impossible to get them back to sleep.

Have you tried putting her in a bigger nappy at night? if it's not hunger that's waking her it could be her nappy is wet and cold which is preventing her from going back to sleep. I put mine in a size 5 at night and seems to do the trick unless she poos!

Lastly - napping. If she's not cranky on less sleep then she may not need her naps extending but it's likely she'll need a catnap in the late afternoon - say 4.30pm for a max of an hour. Sometimes teething can interrupt sleep - my DD is having probs getting to her second sleep cycle for the morning nap - she'll just lie in her cot chatting to herslef and blowing raspberries. Sometimes she bores herself back to sleep and sometimes refuses to so I'll get her up is sush pat won't work if when it's within 45mins of her next feed, and then put her back to bed after she eats. Usually she'll then sleep for a good 2 hours and wake up like a new woman!

I hope this helps!!
Good luck and stick with it - it's all worth it!

I was wondering, did the NW start when you started solids. I remember when I had started with DS he started waking at night, then I stopped solids for a few weeks and then started slowly and that's what got him back to sleep with no NW. Just a thought. You may of gotten you LO on track though since you last posted.

Hi,

I've gone back to her old routine.  She can't stay awake beyond 2 1/4 hours.

The nw have been going on for a while, so I don't think it's the solids.
