Argh - does it bother anyone else that there is a hole in the bottom of the scoop?  Honestly it DOS MY HEAD IN!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHY would you put a hole in the bottom of a powder scoop?  WHY people WHY!?!

Prevents a vacuum 'cause your pack it in.  Which bugged the daylights out of me as all the other ones were "unpacked" scoops.

OK, the Nutramigen we get here, the directions say one packed scoop to 2 oz of water.  Not as tightly as brown sugar when you measure that.  KWIM?  All the other brands of formula I used it was 1 unpacked scoop to 2 oz.  Sooo, I always figured the lil' hole was to help in getting the stuff back out of the scoop.

Ahhhhh I get you.  Mummy mush brain! 

But, no, here it's scooped the same as regular formula - one unpacked scoop.

It's sooooo annoying!  Everytime you tap the scoop to empty it into the bottle, it goes "poof" and little powdery bits go all over.   Grumble grumble.

I suppose if that's the biggest thing I have to grumble about today then I should be happy, shouldn't I?!

Now I have no idea.  Wait, maybe someone is secretly putting little holes in the scoops to drive mamas batty?  ;)

DH believes it was someone's money saving venture -- if we cut 2 x 1mm holes out of the bottom of each scoop, saving 1/4 of a pence, over the year it will save us 1.8billion pounds...... ::)

Yes Emma, same here, hence me not understanding Jenn!  I think in the US it's very different, here all formula is scooped the same way - one unpacked, leveled scoop.  In the States it depends on the formula.  Even the Nutramigen (US) website has instructions for how tightly to pack or not pack the scoop depending on how many calories you want in the bottle!!!   They must think we are dummies over here in the UK and all formula needs to be the same or we'd get really confuzzled!!

Obviously the man who designed it had never helped his wife make bottles!!
