EASY and daycare
« on: January 14, 2009, 19:34:38 pm »
I have been trying to implement EASY but my son (17 weeks) is in daycare and I can't control what happens there. Is this a lost cause or can I still try to implement while he is at home during the evening and on weekends? When I was home with him on maternity leave and during Christmas holiday (I had 2 weeks off) he seemed to thrive on it but I don't know what to do with the daycare!

Hugs I know how hard it can be.  I had DD on the perfect 4 hour EASY with 2 x 2 hour naps and 1 x 45 minute nap, and sleeping through the night.  Then she went to nursery a little before she was 4 months old.

No it is not a lost cause.  Yes you are going to get short naps here and there, and yes you are going to get days that go horribly wrong, but they will get better.

What I tended to do with my DD, was basically set her routine by the clock.  I bought a little note book, and I wrote out each day, step by step so that they could follow it.

I told them when to feed, when to put down for nap etc.  If she woke early, I gave them a guide line of how much A time to follow and when to put her down again.

We had perfect day, and we had bad days.  BUT, the routine ended working so well, that they got to learn my DD's cues, and eventually I did not need to write anything down, and they knew exactly when she was ready for a nap.

Good luck, please keep us posted on how you get on.
