Rolling causing NWs
« on: February 08, 2009, 02:21:21 am »
So my little guy is a tummy sleeper ~ i know that's bad but that's where he's most content.  Problem is he's now figured out how to roll to his back and it's waking him up.  He doesnt cry or scream or anything like that, he's actually happy.  That's the problem.  Once he rolls over he doesn't go back to sleep at all, he just parties all night long.  If i happen to hear him i can go and roll him back over and he goes right back to sleep but if i don't hear him he stays awake.  Last night i'm sure he was awake for more than an hour ~ i semi heard him but thought nothing of it.  When i finally woke up and went into his room he had a huge smile on his face so i know he was awake for quite some time.  Do we wait this out?  How do we deal?  I've tried putting rolled up blankets on either side of him ~ didn't work.  I tried propping him close to the side of his crib so that the bumper pads stop him ~ didn't work.  He's a gymnast in bed and is continually moving I don't know what to do.  Do they eventaully stop?

Very normal and yes you have to just ride it out.  Maybe teach him how to roll onto his back during the day so that he can do it at night.

Thanks ~ that's kind of what i figured.  I've been lurking around for awhile but never really had anything to post.  Everyone else seemed to be going through lots of the same stuff so i could just read and educate.

So last night was AWFUL ~ we barley slept at all.  I think he's going through a growth spurt now to top it off.  Ugh, i'm so tired!

Don't worry, he will learn to either roll onto his tummy or fall asleep on his back.  In the meantime feel free to post any questions, concerns or rants.  ;)
