I had mine removed when I was still BFing DD1, but she was 15 months already and only nursing twice a day. I fed her the morning of my surgery, had it early in the morning, and did feed that night. But she was older and I probably would have decided to pump and dump and feed EBM if she had been younger, and certainly would have done that if she had been feeding more often.
As for actual guidelines, you'll need to know what drugs you will be given, and then you can talk to your pediatrician about what you should do. I do know that when they use nitrous oxide (laughing gas) instead of IV anesthesia, you can nurse immediately after because it doesn't stay in your system. If you have general or conscious sedation anesthesia drugs, however, you will need to allow some time for the drugs to leave your body before breastfeeding again to play it safe.
