Cheers for the reply.  It is somewhat comforting to know some-one is in the same boat, bitter-sweet though.  We unfortunately are not making any progress.  The am nap is consistently short whatever A time used.  As for the pm thought i had found right A only for it to go to pot also.  Its been 3 weeks now and i feel it will never end,  the days are no longer enjoyable.  Anyway i hope your getting back on track, let me know how you get on

Good Luck

I can sympathize completely.  For me, I think we have two problems.  One, DS is touchy when it comes to naps I think.  He wakes easily and always seems to want to know what's going on, so won't go back to sleep.  It is frustrating, because I know through APing that he can happily take a 2hr nap and has no problem transitioning through cycles, but I really struggle get him to nap for a long time in his crib.  I know this because if I nap with him (which I have to admit happens on occasion as sometimes I feel so exhausted it's the only way either of us get caught up on sleep) he can sleep for 2hrs without a peep.  The longest I get these days is 1hr 20mins, and that's if I'm lucky.   ::)  Generally going down for naps is not a problem, but somewhere along the way he wakes and wants something, I don't know what (me I guess).  I have tried extending the naps if they are under 45mins, sometimes it works but he'll never sleep for longer than 30mins after I extend, then he wakes again.  Sometimes I wonder if I should try to extend after 1hr 20mins, seeing as how I know he could sleep longer, but I just figure that's sufficient enough and get him up.  If I could get 2x1hr 20min naps a day I'd be happy.

Two, I know I am not consistent enough.  I go by the clock and by his cues, so no two days are ever the same in terms of A time.  Plus, I do like to be out and about a few times a week, so the afternoon's are usually tough because that's when we got out, and it makes it hard to be consistent.  I'm sure I'm the bigger part of the problem.   :(

He gets about 2-2.5 hrs naps a day (2.5 is on a really good day).  I would like it to be about 3.  But at least he is happy and is a really content and easy going baby, so that's make it much easier to deal with.  It just keep telling myself, he'll nap better one of these days.  :)
