ooo- good update! sounds like things are improving, and I'm really glad the MD gave you reflux meds- fingers crossed things keep moving in the right direction!
Yes- shhh/pat doesn't require back patting. You can gently rub a tummy, pat a bum, what ever works and seems soothing.

So despite the good naps yesterday we still had a few nws :-[. We did have a good visit with the massage therapist today. I got some tips I can use at home. Hopefully this will work itself out in a few weeks and the meds will help. We have been taking a break from the sleep training part the past few days but sticking to his routine & trying to extend naps, I have to say it's been refreshing considering how stressed out I was becoming. I think I'm going to have to let the meds take effect before the sleep training can be really effective. He was doing really well with it up until 5 weeks old so hopefully when we start back he will do well again(fingers crossed).I still have 2 months to work with him before I go back to work part time & he will go to daycare 3x/wk.Hopefully we can get it figured out by then. Also after reading some of the threads on reflux and colic it looks like most people do whatever it takes to get their LO to sleep comfortably. If we do this until the meds kick in(which will be a couple of weeks)could that possibly get him past the 45 min mark consistently or will he become dependant on it to make it through? He did sleep 1hr 15min on his on in the bouncy seat. He stirred but went back to sleep. Thanks for all the help!
