15m old DD NIGHTMARE at naptime
« on: June 02, 2009, 04:49:50 am »
my 15m old DD is so difficult at naptime and I just have to idea what to do.  When it comes to naps she cries or screams, wont lie down, won't let me leave the room, and I just can't settle her.

Today it took over 45 mins, and I eventually had to ask my mum to help out and she managed to get her to sleep.

It only happens with me, Daddy or Nana can put her to bed no problems, but with me she just turns into a monster.

I normally try to do a wind down for about 10 mins, all the while telling her that's its bedtime and she's going to sleep soon etc.  Then i put her in bed and she cries and won't lie down.  she happily goes to bed at night and puts herself to sleep, it's only nap time that is the drama.  I've tried PU/PD but this only makes her more agitated.  I've tried WI/WO but this also upsets her more.

I really don't know what to do, I dread nap time everyday  :'(

Help!
