17 month old, started 1 nap but getting EWs
« on: July 02, 2009, 10:28:29 am »
have been doing 1 lunchtime now for 1 week.  She goes down at 11.30am for nap and wakes 2pm, bedtime is 7ish.  She had started her EWs again, waking up 5am.  Sometimes she'll resettle for another 20 mins.

Is it the 1 nap that's doing it?  Is she not ready for it?  How with the EW should I do her day?

thanks

ps she's started on NWs too, but I think that's down to the hot weather

I'm guessing she's at that weird place where she's not fully ready for 1 nap.  When my dd first went to 1 nap, we'd do 1 nap for 2-3 days, then I'd go back to my 2 nap routine to ward off OT accumulating.  So you may want to take a day or 2 and do 2 naps, then go back to your 1 nap routine.  You may go back and forth like that for a few weeks before she's fully on to one nap.

Staying awake from 2 to 7pm may be too long for her, resulting in ew. Can you put her to bed an hour earlier to make up for the missed nap? Good luck.

i'm such an idiot - my dd2 is 15 months old!  I miscounted ::) call it sleep deprivation.

Should i go back to 2 naps a day?
She is still EW and NW (has been for 2 weeks).

i have done sleep at 6pm too, but no difference.

thanks

no worries :)  I might try throwing in a couple of 2 nap days.  Sometimes during the transition, the OT accumulates with 1 nap days, and you need a couple of 2 nap days to catch back up.
