Do you think that your lo could be ready for a slight increase in A time.  With naps only being 1 hour long, I am thinking your lo may need a bit more A time.

Thanks Paula
I tried extending the activity time I did get a 1.5hr nap in the morning but after that back to 45 mins
what is the ideal activity time I need to ensure she gets at her age

Great news on the 1.5 hour nap.

Here is a guideline on the amounts of A time for lo's at different ages

http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=64158.msg476652#msg476652

One thing also to remember is that the first A time of the day is generally the shortest, and the rest of them are slightly longer, so it could mean that your lo is ready to extend the A time throughout the day a bit more.

Can you post what your day looks like now with the increased A time and length of naps, and include the NW's/ fussiness.

Hi Paula,

Her Schedule now looks like this :
E:7:15 am
S:7:30 am
( actually she sleeps through this BF , more like a morning dream feed )
A:9:15
E:10:15 am
A:10:30 am
S:10:50 am

E:12:30 pm
A:12:45 pm
S:1:50 pm

A:3:00 pm
E:3:30 pm
A:3:45 pm
S:4:30 pm
( she wakes up on the 45 min mark even if i shh pat / w2s her , have to start all over again, rock , cuddle and some accidental parenting , she would sleep only in my arms)
A:5:45 pm
E:6:00 pm
A:6:25 pm
S:7:15 pm

E:8:00 pm
A:8:20 pm(bed time ritual-massage) ( this is usually the time is poops , and is usually between the feed , as i use cloth nappies , i have to stop feeding in between and clean her up before we can continue the feed)
S:9:15 pm

Wake up : 10:00 ish , will feed , and fuss and cry, and not get back to sleep till 12:00/12:30 , in between if we try and rock her to sleep , she will sleep to 10 mins max , and wake up as soon as we put her in her crib

Another thing that has happened in the past week is , as soon as i start my nap ritual of swaddle and cuddle and a small walk in the room to wind down, she begins to cry .

One more Question , if you see her feeding time , that is hardly more than 10 to 15 mins , i moved her to 3 hour easy about 10 days back , but before that as well i could get a maximum of 10 mins feed , though she has been gaining weight fine and the Ped was happy with her weight , at 3 months she was 12.5 pounds , is she snacking ?

Lot of accidental parenting , so much so that day before yesterday, i cudn't move my hands after having carried her arround for 2 hours.

Paula, we seem to be going down hill every day ! need your help getting deperate with the NWs

TIA

Richa

as we had discussed , have increased the activity time for Jashn, from and 1 hr 15 mins to 1 hr 45-1hr 50 mins( going by her cues ) , which has ensured that she does not cry any more when i tried to put her down to sleep.
and now she sleeps on her own in her crib, the accidental parenting is almost out now ! woow it feels good .
However here is the issue ,while her activity time is for 3.5 Hr easy , she still is hungry in 3 hours , and wakes up and wants to feed , giving her sleep of about an hour to hour and fifteen at max, how do i increase the space between her eating to 3.5 hours

her EASY looks like this now :
E: 7:15
S:7:35-7:40

A: 9:15
E: 10:15
A: 10:35
S:11:05

E:1:15
A:1: 40
S:2:55

A:4:00
E: 4:15
S:5:30

A:6:30
E:6:50
S: 7:45 ( 45 Min Nap )

A:  8:30
E:9:00
S: 9:30

She still wakes up in 45 mins , before i can get her up for her dream feed, but things are much better now and night wakings have reduced.

regards
Richa

Great news that she is going down better for you  ;D

I am thinking that the early am nap is what is throwing the routine off.  When your lo Eats at 7:15, have you tried getting up for the day and starting the day then?

You can then aim for your A to start after the E and then go to sleep at the S time.  When she wakes then, she would be ready for her next feed.  That way you are not getting too much A time before the E.

Hi paula
life has changed so drastically
after waking her up at seven! For the past three days she has slept at eight
and slept through to seven next morning!what more could I have asked for in life!
She is currently on three hour easy except for the first nap both the others have become 45min ones
should I move her towards 3.5hrs?
She will be 4months old next week

thanks a ton!DH and I have finally some time for us in the evenings!

hi, paula is on holidays at the moment.

if her naps have dropped to 45 mins that usually indicates UT, so try another 10/15 mins A time only before those short naps. if her first nap is still a good length then leave that A time as it is. many bubs have a shorter first A time.

glad to hear things are going well for you :)

Great news that things are going so well  ;D

I agree with Kirry, if the later naps are 45 mins, I would increase A time and see if your lo takes a better nap.  That way you are moving towards the 4 hour EASY.

Good luck, and keep us posted on how you get on.
