The musical toothbrush is what worked best for my dd. she would always fight and rarely got her teeth brushed. I brushed my teeth with a musical toothbrush,(to get her interested) and she was very interested. I told her she could only use it if i could brush her teeth first and it worked. I ended up getting a second so she could push the button and turn the music on and off while i brushed her teeth.
There was a thread a while back, I think Ruliani(i think...) posted about the Angel toothbrush. You can use it with or without toothpaste, it is for infants and toddlers. they chew on it and it brushes their teeth. Dont know how well it cleans but it is better than nothing. I never tried it. Google it to see if it is somithing for you.
I never had a toe clipping issue. But...my kids loved when i did "This little piggy" You could try it. This little piggy went to the market, this little piggy went home this little piggy had Roast beef, this little piggy had none, and this little piggy went weee weee weee(and tickle a little) all the way home. You could try clipping the nails inbetween each piggy?
You could try it on someone else and have them really enjoy it, especially the tickling part. some kids dont like tickling, my kids love it if yours lo likes it it may work.
