LO starts waking 2/3 times a night!
« on: July 07, 2009, 17:39:58 pm »
Hey everyone!

Our DD is 7 mo old and has started waking at least twice, sometimes 3/4 times a night, looking for a feeding. She's BF and we've just started her on solids, and yet still she seems very hungry - like it's not just habit, but need for a feed. I can hear her little tummy grumbling when I'm feeding her. I'm anxious to do PU/PD as she's very slight - in the 10th percentile for her age, and I wonder if she needs these feeds.

Here's our schedule.

Wake & BF 6am
A             6.30
Solids       8am
S             9am
E             10.45
A             11.15 (including solids lunch)
S             2.00
E             3.30
A             4.30
S             5.30 (depending, sometimes she doesn't sleep this time)
E             6.30 (solids/BF)
A            7.00 (including bath)
S            8.15

Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Hi Lisa ~

How long has this been going on for? It could be a growth spurt but these usually only last for 2-3 days. What I would do is try to squeeze in another BF during the day, or perhaps even try a dream feed between 10-11pm. At the 6:30pm feed are you doing BF first or solids? I would keep the BF first since milk has more calories and nutrients than solids.

HTH!
