Thanks for checking in guys.
Not going too badly really.
Saturday (after 6.30pm bedtime)
Awake 6.10am
Nap 11.20 - 12.40 (pfffff!!)
Bedtime 18.40pm
Sunday
Awake 6.15am (I first heard him at 5.20am but pretty sure he nodded back off again)
Nap 10.45 - 12.50pm
Bedtime 18.40pm
So he seems to be trying to tag an extra 30-60 mins onto his night sleep which is super, and I am still running in at 13 - 13.5 hrs sleep a day which means we are not getting OT.
I think the nap was shorter on saturday as he was too late going down for it, especially after the short napping the day before. I'm going to try 10.45 - 11ish for a few days first and then aim to get the nap back until 11.30am. TBH I think I can stick there if he is extending his night as well, as I can live with a 6.30 - 7 day. Actually that would be perfect
but history has taught me not to get comfortable with nights over 11hrs.
But I think it is slow progress. I am wary about allowing him to set his body clock to what he is doing at the moment, but think he just needs a few more days to settle into his one nap.
He seems to be managing the long A before bed better already - much calmer - and no tears at bathtime today.
Another reason to not be too aggressive this week is that we have to go away on friday which will cause a bit of OT and upset anyway (stupid family wedding - my uncle - his 3rd no less - and NOT planned with childrens bedtimes in mind AT ALL) So I'm hoping I can reset the routine in the recovery from that anyway.
