For my SIL...18 mo NWs for milk
« on: September 24, 2009, 04:02:23 am »
My SIL has an almost 18 month old DD, who is still having 1-3 NWs for milk.  SIL is preg, and it is a really high risk preg, so she needs her sleep, and I would like to help her if I can.  The DD usually only takes 30min naps during the day, so night sleep is essential for SIL, as she can't fall asleep or get any rest during the day.  My question is, would the best way to go about trying to get her weaned from the NWs be to reduce the amount by an ounce every 3 nights, hoping she makes up the difference in the day, or is there a better way?  I know some people recommend to slowly water it down, so it isn't appealing anymore, but that wouldn't work with whole milk, would it?

TIA!
 :)

I think you could still water down, just add a little less milk to the bottle each night, and top it up with water.
