finger food sizes and choking
« on: October 28, 2009, 19:27:33 pm »
We have gone from puree to finger foods quite easily.  LO is eating lots of foods but if its something he really likes he gobbles and gobbles and stuffs so many pieces in his mouth.  the other thing he does is even though it is really mushy he just swallows and strains to do so and makes a face.  Sometimes he even gags just cause it's too much.  I know the food is really really soft so I give him smaller pieces.  Just wondered if others had similar experiences?

IF he likes to put lots into his mouth, you could just give him a few items at a time.  DS was like this where he stuffed himself like a chipmunk just gags on the food.  Actually he still does this sometimes.

Yeh, we had this too. It's just a normal part of them learning how to 'manage' food.

Well I'm "happy" to hear other babies were like that...I was starting to think I might have done something to rid him of his ability to know when he is full!  I guess they are and aren't related....but he just keeps stuffing away like a chipmunk.  couldn't have said it better.
By the way, great new pic Anna!
