I've been trying to treak our routine, because I was suspicious that I was causing the am nap to be too short by making A #1 too long. I had some really successful mornings where I dropped the A by 20 minutes, and got 2 hour naps. Then I did the same thing today, and my usual angel was a screaming mess the second I put her in the crib. She got sooo worked up, gasping while trying to suck her thumb, screaming....I tried to breastfeed her (don't know why I weakened), she got sleepy, I put her down, and then the same thing all over. I got her up, let her play for 20 min more, and then when she rubbed her eye, I put her back in her crib and she went to sleep immediately, and napped for 1.5 hours. Does that mean she was UT? We had a similar episode last week too.
What's the appropriate A time for an 8 month old?
This is what we're currently doing:
7:00 awake and BF, 8:00 solids
9:45 - 11:00/11:30 nap A #1 = 2 hours, 45 min
11:30 BF, 12:30 solids
2:00 - 3:30 nap A #2 = 2.5 hours, sometimes a little longer, depending on the am nap
3:30 - BF, 5:00 solids
6:45 - BF A #3 = 3 hours, sometimes 3 hours, 15 min (and once in awhile, the pm nap goes until 4pm, so then
7:00 asleep. this A is shorter)
