My 10-month DS won't go down for his afternoon nap and is EW'ing. How do I soothe him if pu/pd, shh/pat, laying with him, rocking him, singing, massage...all of things don't work with him? He's a wiggler, continuously throws is lovey on the floor when he's fighting nap/sleep, etc. He will hardly let me hold him...he wiggles until he's in a crawling position against my body. Though, please don't be mistaken...he prefers me most and is showing signs of SA. After trying for 1-2 hours to put him down for a nap, we abandon it and then he crawls around whining and crying following me, wanting me to pick him up. Then, the moment I do, he smiles and starts singing or babbling.
How do you soothe a spirited baby with this type of personality? Today, for example, we tried the afternoon nap twice to no avail.
