Not napping well while out of town
« on: December 27, 2009, 04:20:38 am »
We are out of town for the first time with our 9 week old little girl and she has napped horribly the whole trip.  I am still following her same routine and am using the shh/pat method, but she is very hard to put down and we sometimes resort to putting her in her carseat and driving around.  Of course there are a lot more people around her during her wake time and i'm wondering if she's overstimulated with all the people?  I really don't know what to do and feel helpless.  My mother in law and stepmom are not helping either with all of their "advice." She is usually a great napper at home (except sometimes between 4-7pm) and I don't know if this is a phase or if it's because we're away from home.

Any thoughts on my problem?

I can guarantee she's overstimulated. It sort of comes with the territory this time of year, especially at her age. If I were you I would just do whatever you have to do to get through the visit and then hurry home ;)
