Hi I can't seem to get a consistant routine due to erratic night feeding and different wake time every day!! My LO is only 14 weeks, we had a good routine for about a week, two weeks ago - then we had a bout of illness and seems like i am back to sqare one. I have always had the same problem though. She will only feed every 4 hours and has done for the past few weeks - she point blank refuses a minute before! anyway, her night feed changes daily - anywhere between 2am and 4.30am (but mostly about 3 - 3.30). So i am doing the first feed of the day 4 hours from there. But the trouble is her wake time is always different (usually, dependant on her night feed) anywhere between 5am and 6.30am. So my problem is that the feeds and the naps are all over the shop, she is on 4 hourly feed but can really only stay awake for 1.5 hours at a time. Sometimes she is so tired at a feed she has to have a short nap before she will feed, which throws everything out.....this especially happens at the bedtime feed (which unfortunately brings her night feed forward?)
anyway this is the general routine:
6 up (she is usually awake in her crib, but i'm not sure for how long)
E 7am (this can vary)
S7.30-8.15 then 9ish for another 45 mins (i have tried to get this longer with no avail??)
E11am feed (usually a big one)
S 12 - 2 (sometimes)
E 3pm
S 3.30-5.30 - (very difficult this one - usually have to walk in the pram, if not she just does a short nap - i try to get at least an hour out of her)
E 6.30 -7pm (she has taken to not feeding very much ie 40ml and falling asleep on the bottle)
E 11pm usually ok feed
Then wakes anywhere between 2am and 4.30am for a feed so the first feed can be anywhere between 6am - 8.30am, but the naps can conincide because she can be awake from 5am until 6.30am and can only stay awake for 1.5 hours, with a really early two catnaps in the morning which i don't seem to be able to break. She naps in her chair in the front room - i try at least one nap in her crib (she refuses point blank for the first catnaps but is easy to get to sleep in her chair). Also, we are busy girls and a lot of naps are spent in the pram coming and going from social engagements, so timings there can be erratic. I wish she would feed and wake roughly the same time (which she did for a bit) but i can't seem to break this - it seems to hinge on the success of that bedtime feed?
any insights???
