Help with 7mo EASY please
« on: February 18, 2010, 03:22:29 am »
My DD has just moved to 2 naps and is doing 2hr45min - 3 hours A time before first nap and we usually get a good 1.5hr nap but then she will only do 45 mins for the second nap (after A time of 3 hours) should I be extending her A time because she is UT??
Also because it is late in the day I can not really offer a CN as it will make bedtime too late, how long after the 45 min nap should I put her to bed so she does not get OT?

7.30am wake and BF
8.30 solids
10.30 - 12pm Nap
12pm BF
1pm solids
3.00pm - 3.45pm Nap ( not sure why this one is so short most of the time)
4.00pm BF
5.00pm solids
6.30 BF and Bed (would like it to be 7.30 but I think she would be too OT from short nap???)

Evening's have been pritty bad the past few days she has been waking up after 45mins after putting her into bed. I have been finding it hard to get her back to sleep before 9pm!  (I am not sure if this might be reflux related or not was thinking that because she seems to have a lot of Milk and solids within and short amount of time 4pm - 6.30pm?)

Would love some suggestions.

Thanks in advance :o)

yup, sounds like she needs a bit more A time before her second nap. Try 5-10 minutes and see what that gives you?

I think her bed time should be at 6 latest. Sounds like she's getting OT wakings after she's been put to sleep :(

How does that sound?

Thanks Jiinx I will try the xtra A time before 2nd nap and see how we go.
Yes I think she is OT going to bed.  I put her to bed again at 6.30pm last night and she woke after 45mins and would not settle she would cry for 1 min and then stop for 1 - 2 mins I ended up getting her up as she got quite upset and then she finally to sleep at 9pm I did a DF at 10.30pm and she slept till 7am yay (she has only just started STTN)
It is almost like she is treating that 45 mins after bedtime her 3rd nap cause then she wants to stay up till 9pm......

fingers crossed for a better nap day :)

Well today did not go to great as I had to try to fit things around picking my 2.5 year old DD up from preschool at 3.45pm

7am wake up
7.30am BF
8.30am solids
9.50am - 11.10am sleep (I woke her up here so I could put her down at 2ish again)
11.30am BF
12.30pm solids
2.10 - 3.10pm sleep (1 hour only what does a one hour nap mean? she woke happy) was trying to get to 3.30ish
3.30pm BF
5.00pm CN 40 mins
6.00pm solids
7.15pm BF and in bed by 7.30pm
She then did not fall asleep till 8.40pm (she was calling out for a minute then quiet for a few minutes till 8.40pm) but she actually feel asleep on her own.  I went in once to tuck her in again as she had got herself out of the blankets and was lying across the cot the wrong way.

Had to do the CN today as there is no way we could have made a reasonable bedtime otherwise.

Will do DF at 10.30pm and hope for a good night again.
Will try tommorrow to push out the 2nd A time to 3 hours 10 mins.
She seems to handle increases quite well I have not gone past 3 hours before as I thought she  may be a little too young? She will only be 7 months in 4 days time.

Thanks for your help
