Jack is now 19 weeks and has been "going through the night" without food from 11pm - 7.30am since about 10 weeks old. (with several NW for his Dummy)

However about 10 days ago he started crying for food in the middle of the night -  I thought it was just a growth spurt for something but  it doesn't seem to be ending.

The problem is he is now draining a 7oz bottle at around 4 in the morning (sometimes its been as early as 2.30am sometimes as late as 5am). But he is then not interested in his morning feed.

He feed last night about 3.30am - finished the bottle, but then I struggled to get him to take 4 oz for his morning feed.

So I now feel like its a vicious circle -  he is not taking as much in the day- as he is full from the night feed, but then he is hungry again at night.  So I am not sure what to do?

Our typically easy is as follows.

Wake: 7.30
E: 7.45am
A: - 9.30
S: 9.30am -11.00am
E:11am
A: -till 1pm
S 1pm - 2.30pm
A: 2.30pm- 3pm
E: 3pm
A:until4.45
S 4.45 - 5.45
A 5.45 -  Time, with Daddy and bedtime routine -  (Bath etc)
E: 6.45
S- 7pm - upstairs in bed -  usually asleep by 7.30pm
E - Dream Feed at around 11pm

Then at the moment waking any time between 2.30 and 5am for a feed and has taken a full bottle every time accept once in the past 10 days.

Have you tried limiting the amount you give him and then resettling him? So give him 5oz and then resettle him with shh/pat or whatever works for him. If that works for a few nights then reduce the bottle by another oz or so again. You will need to try and increase his day bottles to compensate, have you tried a faster flow teat to see if that helps him to take more in the day?

Thanks for those ideas.

Jack hasn't been well the past couple of days (cold and chest infection) so I am going to let is go until he is better, and then try with reducing the amount of milk.

I have just stopped BF a week ago (had been just doing one feed a day for the last 3 weeks) so we only had him on level 2 teats, because he struggled to cope with the flow difference.

When we did try him on a 3 teat a couple of times he just got overwhelmed by the flow of milk and cried. I'll try again in a week or so when I haven't been BF for a while:)

We have exactly the same problem with our 3 and a half months old daughter. Advise I got is to dilute the milk she drinks at 4 AM and hopefully she will be hungry again in the morning. I am going to try the coming night and see what happens...
