Conception when breastfeeding
« on: March 16, 2010, 23:15:16 pm »
Not sure this is the perfect place for this question but not sure where else to put it.
We are starting to plan our second baby. I am still feeding my 9 month old and am yet to have a full visit from AF. What are the chances of getting pregnant while still feeding? Do I need to wean if we want one soon (I really don't want to)? Anyone out there get PG before getting a regular cycle back?

AF returned for me when DS was 8mos or so.  I had 3 cycles, very irregular, then got pregnant while I was still BFding (about 4-5xday).  We weren't even trying.

I think that if you've had AF, then you would be ovulating.  The tricky part would be figuring out when since your cycles aren't back to normal.

Have you checked out fertilityfriend.com?  You might find some helpful ttc info there too.  Also maybe peek in on the ttc boards to see what other ttc moms have to say.  :)
