Did the time change affect your LO?
« on: March 29, 2010, 18:11:45 pm »
J is upstairs messing about and resisting his bedtime  >:(. I've had to go back three times and resettle which is unusual.

He is now singing away.

Yesterday we stuck to the old times after the later wake-up, but he then had a VERY short night last night as he woke at 6am despite an 8.20pm bedtime and I think he would have drifted back to sleep but DH got up for work at 6.30am and he was up. But he did keep signing sleep to me all morning and at one point led me back to his room and wanted to go back in his cot - but obviously still didn't sleep as we were all up by then.

Took a very normal nap from 11.50-1.50pm (new time) and I put him down at his usual time and he is really fighting it.

Is this body clock as it is only 6.10pm even though we are now heading on 5.5hrs A?

Isn't this time change supposed to be the easy one? I assumed after a 9.5hr night it would be simple enough to adjust  :-\.

In exactly the same boat Liz!  :o

On the morning of clock change he woke at 6am, and here was me thinking we would get a 'long-lie.'

I have struggled to get to a 7pm bedtime tonight despite a great nap earlier and he is up the singing away too, tired as you like though....just not sleeping yet!

What gives? These wee monkeys were sent to test us! Dare I say it but the last time change when we went back was alot easier than this! Mind you we do have canines popping out over here too and I assume thats playing a part in it all.  ???

My DS seems to be pretty tired from it. We did it gradually, shifting by 15mins a day from Fri-Mon but he just seems wrecked this evening. Going to try to stick to our regular bedtime and nap and hope he gets over it in a few days.

Yeah he was tired and fussy at bathtime - but is still not sleeping  >:(.

God knows what time he will wake tomorrow now.

I think we found the last time change easier as well - in fact I barely remember it.

Wasn't really any option to do it slowly here though due to me and DH working.

Didn't seem to help us!! Well, I think it helped me to adjust more than DS. ;)

The time change did absolutely diddly for us.  I think he made it to the new 7 on the first day and then back to the usual 5 a.m. business the days following.  Ho hum.  All I know is that I lost an hour of sleep and was knackered for several days.

Hugs Liz!!!

Well right now I'm rolling with a 7:30 bedtime instead of our normal 6:30, and hoping to keep this up.  If this means he wakes at 6:00 it will be worth it.  If he starts back on his 4:55 malarky, I don't know if I'll have the guts to hold out until 7:30.

Today he woke at 4:55, but it was actually 5:55 - whoa, what a lie in!  Am sure he'll wise up soon though, and figure out that he actually needs to wake at 3:55 in order to keep up the torture of getting me up in the "new" 4:00s.
