what would you do?
« on: March 27, 2010, 10:31:01 am »
We have so many issues going on right now.  My LO (20 months) is teething and not napping because he is having to nap elsewhere and he will only nap in his crib.  He is waking at 5:30 every day, regardless of bedtime or the day before.  Some days he is getting a 2 hour nap in his crib and then some days no nap at all.  On those days, we can't even do early bedtimes, so the days are long.  As a result, OT is setting in.  After not falling asleep until 7:30 last night, he woke at 4 am and chatted from then until 6 when he was freaking out for us to get him.  My LO always refuses 2 naps, but how can we not do 2 naps when he woke this early?  The other problem is today he will have to nap at my in-laws house, which he refused last weekend.  So I don't know how to not try 2 naps.  I was thinking of trying to AP a cat nap out of him in the stroller really early this morning (7:30/8 ish) and then put him down for a real nap at 12 or so.  He is staying at my in-laws house over night too, so I am not sure about the early bedtime and I really need him to get some sleep today.  What do you think?

Thanks Becky.  As I was walking, I was kicking myself because 2 naps never work with my LO.  But i am hoping that since he is exhausted, this works.  I only let him sleep for 15 minutes and I am going to attempt to put him down at his usual nap time.

I think it is worth a try as things do seem to be more extreme with him than usual don't they. If it does not work then you know not to try again but you never know. Good luck!
