Help! Out of ideas!
« on: April 18, 2010, 02:16:18 am »
My 5 week old is barely eating 2 oz at a time right now - she weighs 6 lbs 4 oz, so she's still on a 2.5 hour schedule to try to get her weight up.  I've tried different bottles, different nipples, checked her mouth - but getting 2 oz in her still seems impossible at times as she either becomes frantic and crying hysterically, or just squirms (not like she's gassy, just moving around nonstop).  Any ideas?!!!

Have a look here http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=654.0 and see if anything rings a bell. Her behaviour could possibly be a symptom of reflux - does she show any of the other signs? If you think this is a possibility, I would visit your Dr and see what they think.

How is she sleeping? A tired baby is often very hard to feed, that is another possibility if she isn't getting good naps in the day.

HTH!
