Hi all,
We finally got 2 hour naps a couple of months ago (the first of her life), and now we already have to cut them back (I think). She is taking 45 minutes plus to fall asleep at night. So I cut the naps back to 1.5 hours. Still taking a long time. And she is NOT happy when I wake her up from the nap.
Here is the current routine:
Awake - 6:30
Nap - 1:15pm-2:45pm
In bed at 8:00pm, takes until 9:00 to fall asleep.

So that's 9.5 hours at night, not enough! And 11 hours total sleep! She is low sleep needs, but come on.
Any suggestions?

I am in the same boat.  My 31 month old naps on and off.  last night he slept 10 hrs and had to have a nap at 2:15, I woke him at 3:30 now I don't know what time to put him down at.  I am so confused with this whole nap transition thing.

Listening in and offering support!

i can't help but think that the nap is too late rather than too short.   6-1 is a really long time.  could you try to push the nap closer to 11:45 or noon for a few days and see if that helps?  that might also help get bedtime earlier.  :)
