Welcome on board :)

In general, you will try to extend the nap for 20 or 30 mins, if successful that's great, if not then you may need to bring the feed forward by 15 or 20 mins to avoid feeding to sleep and so that she's not too tired to feed.

Could you post your routine in EASY format, to help you more? :)

hi yazzie
well, as i have twins i have to be a bit flexible with the routine as shh/ patting in the room with the other twin gets dodgy as i worry about waking the other (i am thinking of setting up a portacot in another room if things get really desperate....also i m just that tired i cant sustain 20 minutes at the moment....

but this is what i try to do - mornings are the worst as my partner leaves for work super early i have to manage the twins and a 6am waking toddler - sometimes i can get everyone back to sleep till seven other times everyones up...arghh!

somewhere between 6 & 7 the twins stir i try to shh/ pat and or feed back to sleep and hopefully back to sleep till 730 and then their A time is one hour with a wind down at 50 minutes (again if both twins are up i have to just do what i can) and then they can sleep anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours to me having to wake them at the 3 hour feed time.  so i cant spell out the EASY routine as i just get as close as i can each day with both.

One twin gets disasterously OT by end of the day and i am still working out how to manage her, i had some other BW advice that she could have wind which i am working on (im not very patient with winding!!) and can scream on and off till 9pm , the other twin is back in bed on time.

If the twins do their catnap and are up at 430 - should i fit another nap in and move bedtime will later?? or feed them and put them down earlier??

they feed 4 hourly at nightly, again roughly sometimes get a longer stretch

sorry if this is a mess but have such little time!! thank you so very much.

beck

and then i EASY it with the aim of having everyone back in bed by a similar time 12 hours later.

E 10, 1 , 4 and then in the evenings im never sure what to do as the last catnap can end up being too far away from bedtime so wanted your advice with this too?? should i just feed them at

Hey there hun, twins & a toddler, you're a champ lady..!

Well, I'd suggest having a CN, as putting them to bed @ 06.00ish would risk them being up anywhere between 05.00 or 06.00 and I can see you don't want that.

Can, you put down their EASY just so that I can imagine what's going on and help you more :)

E: 6-7am; top up at 730am if went back to sleep
A: 50mins to 1 hour
S: 45mins to 2 hours

E: try and get to 10am
A: 50mins to 1 hour
S: 45mins to 2 hours

E: try and get to 1pm
A: 50mins to 1 hour
S: 45mins to 2 hours

E: try and get to 4pm
A: 50mins to 1 hour
S: 45mins to 2 hours

E: 530 - 6pm last feed before bedtime depending how the day has gone
A: ? try and get into bed just over an hour depending on how the feeds goes and settling

this last feed is difficult to get them to the 3 hour mark ie. 7pm as they are usually up by 530 or earlier if i havent managed to get them back to sleep during the day

pru really struggles in the evening and feeds between dozing till 9ish depending on her wind (screams - i use her dummy and knees to chest to calm) and then sleeps well over night usually...one or two feeds still: any thoughts on this last feed appreciated!

E: usually one good stretch till midnight and then a E: 3 or 4am feed and then E: 6-7am feed

does this help?? BIG THANK YOUS

How old are they?...I'm guessing they're maybe a month old?

Do you use medication for your lo with wind?...I suffered the same & honestly was no good @ winding @ all...!!..but ppl kept telling me that if I had given ds gripe water 3 times per day regardless of whether or not he had wind, that would have helped alot, not sure of course :)

they are 2 months and no meds but have tried fennel tea and a one-hole teat (instead of 2) last day or so and has made a small difference...

Gripe water helped loads with ds & used to bring out loud burps from him :)

First thing, I'd suggest trying to extend the A time to 1.10 or 1.15, as the 45 mins naps may very well be UT naps. You would be looking @ 3 long naps & one CN to get you through the afternoon, although you may want to watch out to cut the last A time a little to maybe less than an hr to avoid OT, as some babies ability to handle A times just decreases as the day goes by. This link should give you some good ideas:

Have you considered introducing a DF or cluster feeds?
