Changes for 23 MO, screeching and vomiting
« on: May 20, 2010, 00:53:06 am »
We have been experiencing some changes in our houshold, including a new roomate and a new dog.  I also have been working a bit more so our daughter has been spending a bit more time at grandmas.  On top of that, she has started getting a new molar.
Our wind down time is pretty much the same as it has always been, we try to keep the dog quiet and out of the house and the new roomy downstairs.
Our daughter has been really great at going to sleep on her own.  We would read books for a few minutes, snuggle for a minute and put her in bed and say goodnight and she would play and sing for about 20 minutes in her bed and go to sleep.  Lately she has been SCREECHING and crying to the point of throwing up.  I try to gradually leave the room, but she gets herself so worked up, even when I am rubbing her back or snuggling her, that she THROWS UP! When we take her out to clean her up  she is pretty much instantly in a good mood, is extremely hyper (over tired) and plays for an hour.  My husband will try to put her back to bed again and she will be so tired she goes right to sleep.  Meanwhile, mom and dad are grumpy, exhausted and getting really tired of cleaning up puke.
HELP!

Thanks guys!
Here is the routine for the day:
Wake up 7:00
Breakfast 8:00 at Grandma's house
Lunch 12:00
Naptime 1:30
Wake up 3:30
I pick her up between 4:30 and 5:00
Dinner between 6:00-6:30
Wind down: 7:00
I don't give her a bath every night.  If I do wind down starts a little earlier.
    Pajamas
    Books
    Brush Teeth
8:00 More books in her room
Bed

She still needs her afternoon nap.  She is always very tired at that time and goes right to sleep.

I wonder if you need to cap the nap so she is more tired at bedtime - or do a later bedtime and see if that helps??  I don't think cut the nap altogether but maybe limit it to 1.5hrs.
