How to increase A time when DD is already OT?
« on: June 04, 2010, 19:27:57 pm »
Hi

My LO is 11month old tomorrow.
She is awake usually for 3h30m and I know that I should increase this A time a little as she has been napping only 1h-1h20m lately.
Unfortunately she is teething, had temperature last night and was awake from 1:30-4:00am :(
She still woke at 6:20am (went to bed at 7:20pm the night before) and I thought she must be OT due to the long NW and cut back her first A to 3h. She had only 45m nap :(
The second A was 3h45 as we were in the car and she couldn't fall asleep until we left the town and reached the motorway. She napped 1h15m.

I am a little lost as I just cannot find the A time that fits when she is OT.

Any help is appreciated!!!

Sorry to say that it really is trial and error -sometimes your LO will cue you as to the days when they need an earlier nap - but sometimes not.

Personally I always went for what was usual unless Jacob gave me clear signs otherwise, and used a shorter A to bedtime if I felt he needed a bit of a catch up.

There are no easy answers with a teething LO. Some need their A's cutting back a lot, and others don't.

Hang in there though - teething is awful for both of you but it does end  :-* :-*.

((hugs))

And remember the meds before sleeps  ;) ;)
