How can we improve our EASY for our almost 4 month old??
« on: June 23, 2010, 22:50:48 pm »
6:30am wake/attempt feed
8/8:30am attempt another feed as he doesn't eat full feeds (trying breast first then topping with formula if he will take it)/nap
**usually have to help him stay down if it's a long nap otherwise only 45 min
9:30am wake/attempt feed....or 10:30am/11am if longer nap
10am...or 12pm  rice pablum
10:45am attempt feed/nap....or 12:30am/1pm feed/nap (usually have to help him along again throughout nap to keep him down with pat on back in crib and resoother)
3pm wake/attempt another feed
4:30pm/5pm catnap
5:45pm wake/attempt feed
6pm/6:30pm Bath,PJs
Usually won't fall completely to sleep until 8pm/8:30pm
Night feedings at 11:30pm or 1am/2 or 4am and always 5am

Thanks for any tips...hungry big baby.  Crying fits have ended that.  NWings and frequent wakes through naps are our problems now.

Sorry...to add to this..I tried putting him down earlier tonight.  Instead of 8pm I bathed him at 6pm, after he woke from his catnap at 5:45pm.  He ate before his catnap, so he was not hungry when waking.  He took a bath, I read him a few stories and by 6:30pm I had him in PJ's and was starting his wind down for bed.  He cried and fussed, took some milk, needed burps...took more milk lying in the crib on his side, stayed in the crib fussing but I kept patting his back and offering more milk.  ( I sat on the glider with him in his room offering the milk and that was frustrating him more.  So, I moved him to the crib instead.) Finally he fell to sleep at 7:30pm and woke only one other time quickly for a soother readjustment.

How can I improve this bedtime routine?  I'm assuming putting him to bed sooner after his cat nap will help over tired night wakings.

Thanks
Natasha

anther addition to this to continue of what happened through the NWings last night:

He was put down at 6:30pm and finally settled at 7:30pm for bedtime.
He woke shortly after for a resettle
He woke at 11:45am for a feed, which I finally fed him at 12am
He woke again at 3:45am for another feed which lasted until 4:30am
He woke again at 5:30am and I resettled him twice.
He is now still asleep...but sounds like he is stirring to wake.  Should I keep trying to resettle him until 7am or keep him up if he wakes at 6am?
Also, do I feed him if he wakes at 6am...even though he just ate a big feed at 4am?  This may result in a short snack type feed.

Thank you thank you
