Does 10min make really make a difference?
« on: June 25, 2010, 18:09:16 pm »
Does an extra 10min of extra sleep for nap time really have an effect on night sleep?  Does this extra sleep shorten nights?

Wondering what others think?

I personally never found that 10 min made much of a difference for us, but Colin is and was a high sleep needs kiddo.

Funnily enough, I have found that 10 mins make a really big difference for my high sleep needs dd1 and not so much for normal sleep needs dd2.

I think it depends on the age of the lo and what the rest of the day/week has looked like - if everything is going really smoothly I am more likely to get away with a longer than usual nap than if things are a bit on the edge anyway.

Hi Sabs,
For us it is all about A time. We had a real EW this am and I am sure it was because he had a good 2 hour nap yesterday and then less than 5.5 A. Sigh x
