15 mo refusing afternoon nap
« on: July 06, 2010, 20:21:59 pm »
For the past two week my 15 mo daughter has been fighting her afternoon nap.  She has always been on the low end of A time and in the morning i can barely stretch past 2.5 hrs-usually she is awake for 2 hours before her first nap. Then she usually goes down pretty easily and sleeps for 1.5-2 hrs. Then 3 hours after she wakes up i try to put her down for a second nap and she does not fall asleep. Then the rest of the afternoon she  is pretty cranky the rest of the day and i put her to sleep for the night by 6.  Now she has also been waking really early for the day like 5:30! How can i stop this cycle and get her to take an afternoon nap?

She's definitely transitioning to one nap - at her age it's absolutely normal.

It's a challenging phase for sure, but you can get through it!

have you had a chance to look at the links jessica provided?   there is some great information there and it does sound like the transition to one nap is happening.  let us know if we can help.
