Moving DS to a new room - when?

Hi ladies,
Was not sure where to put this but it is about sleep...
DS is going to have a new room as his room is tiny, literally only big enough for his bed, changer and rug! We are in the process of making him a big boy room next door.
He is due to start nursery for 2 mornings when he is 2  - the date he starts is Nov 1st.
just wondering when you think it would be the best time to move him as I know nursery is going to be a big change in his life and I don't want to move him in then even though we would like to do it for his birthday.
Essentially what I am asking is would you do it before he starts or after and what time would you leave in between.
Ideally I would like to move him in still in his cot bed and then make it into a BBB when he shows signs but I don't want to do both at the same time really so don't want to wait too long. Hope that all makes sense.

I have thought about it so much and am still clueless!

I'd probably do it before, even soonish, so he has a couple months in his new room before starting school. It would be like an initiation to 'you're a big boy now', so first a big boy room, then nursery..

Before, most definitely before or way way after once he's had ample time to adjust to nursery.  It's a bigger adjustment than I originally anticipated and too much change at once throws these kids for a real loop.

i agree with pp, would move him in soon and give him lots of time to adjust to that before nursery.... we were surprised how well our LO's did with room and bed changes..........i am sure he will surprise you too!
