is this the start of 2-1 naps?
« on: August 07, 2010, 20:54:45 pm »
Hi all,
Would just like to know if my lo is gearing up for the 2-1 nap transition, he turned 1 a couple of days ago and is currently having 2 naps a day, his longest nap is in the am ranging from 1-1.5 hrs (this nap is taken approx 3hrs from waking) and then short pm nap of about 40mins (taken 3.5-4hrs from last nap) everything was fine up till approx 2 weeks ago and now we are starting to struggle with pm nap, we dont have complete refusal but its getting increasingly more difficult unless we are in the car at the usual time of the nap. The main change has come in refusal of bed time, ds is becomming harder to settle at normal bedtime which is usually about 7.15pm (roughly 3hrs from last nap give or take 10 mins) and is only finally going to sleep around 8-8.30pm with lots of playing and messing about in between although if i leave the room he will cry untill i come back in to try and settle him! Can enyone give me any insight and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Big thanks x

Hi There and Welcome to the 2-1 road.

Sounds like your lo needs an increase in A time, or time to cut back on one of those naps. Can you post your routine so others can take a look?

thanks kirsten
