9 week old teething causing EW & sleep probs?

My lo is 9weeks n has two eye teeth coming down atm. I noticed these about a week ago...right about the same time he started waking at 4am and not going back down for sleep (previously was only on one night feed 2am & DF & wake up approx 6am) he will nod off then wake after irregular intervals for about 2hours when after that he's fed up and cracks it - i have to get him up. Ive tried a feed and that didnt help (it was only 1.5hours after his last one!) he also has reflux which is med controlled and we have sorted the dose etc so i hesitate to think its this. I wondered if it could be the teething? I tried medicating at DF & 2am feed neither made a difference. Also his naps are erratic with some wakings and resettlings and some not resettling. This is what his routine prior to last week looked like and was coming along nicely:

E: 7am
S:8.30am
E:11am
S:12.30
E:3pm
S:(nap) 4.30
E:6.20
S:7pm
DF:10 or 10.30
Then usually 1 wake up until approx 6-7am ( i was always able to stretch him out until 7am if he woke early.
He's on a 4 hour routine as his reflux was terrible on the 3 hour and he started snacking etc it was kaos. He is a big boy (amlost 6.5kg) Should I keep trying to maintain routine if teething is the problem here? Its quite stressful when the whole day is thwon due to EW,i get so lost it has carried over and over for a week now and he's suffering badly poor guy. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Tanya :)

Hi there, reflux can be the culprit, there is normally a major regression when teething hits the picture.  Since your LO is teething so early, it could be the problem.  What medication is your LO on for the reflux?  It is really hard to stick to a routine with such a teething young one.

His reflux is definately flaring up now....all old symptoms are cropping up. He is on Zantac and appropriate dose for weight etc. It doesnt seem to be working like it used to though hmmm. It improves so much when he is on his routine so its a real shame that we cant seem to make it work atm. :)
