I always managed a 2ish h PM nap after a 20 min AM, but our routine was pretty fixed from a very early age so they were used to it (and dd1 is very high sleep needs - still napping at age nearly 4!).  In your position I would be happy with 1h30 as he is not used to the short AM/long PM combo.  I also think that it would probably add up to enough sleep for the day, although you might have to think about a relatively early bedtime.

We got 2+ hrs straight away too.  But remember Finn's nights are/were always short.  So we have had a short night/long nap balance for a loooong time now.

I would suspect that either he's going to just fall in line with a longer nap or take some time to adapt and give you a 1.5 hr nap for a while until he realizes it isn't enough.
The tweaking never stops!

You are probably right about it taking time to get that longer nap.  Today was pretty successful though:

1st A = 3.5; nap 20 min
2nd A = tried for 2h45, but didn't settle until 3 hrs; nap 1.5

When you say relatively early bedtime, what last A time estimate are you thinking?  Like 3 hrs?  I went for about 3.25 and he didn't settle in until somewhere between 3.5 and 3.75.  I suppose we'll see if we get an EW tomorrow or not...

I haven't had a 'predictable' day like this in months ladies - thank you so much for steering me in the right direction :):):)

Fingers crossed for no EW.  If you don't get one, then it looks like you should maybe be aiming for 3.5h last A for the time being - see if that works for you.
