Propping a Bottle, Dream feed
« on: September 09, 2010, 17:58:08 pm »
Hello, I am new to this site and don't know if I'm doing this properly.  My baby is 7.5 months old and I ran out of BM almost a Month ago now (he's 24 pounds and eats ALOT!) I have always done dream feeds with him, but usually I'm breast feeding so I take him out of his crib and feed him.  Now that he's on a bottle, I'm wondering if it's Ok if I prop the bottle up in his crib once and a while and let him eat.  It seems like when I hold him he falls asleep, but propping it in his crib he downs it pretty quick.  Can anyone help me on this?

Thanks!

I would say no as it is a chocking hazard to prop a bottle, and also it is a choking hazard to feed your LO with them lying completely flat in a crib. You really need to lift them.

As your LO is 7.5mths I would say bear with it as you will be weaning the DF soon anyway.

But personally I wouldn't do that.
