5 month old fighting naps
« on: November 04, 2010, 08:01:02 am »
My LO is just turning 5 months old this week, and for the past 3 days he has fought every single one of his naps, where he usually goes down for them pretty well.  He has always been a bit of a catnapper, with 2 45 min naps and 1 hour and a half nap per day, and he sleeps well at night (11-12 hours).  I haven't changed anything or altered his routine so i don't know what's going on.  His daily routine up until last week looked something like this:

Awake - 5.30ish
E - 6am
A
S - 7-45 - 8.30

E - 10am
A
S - 10-30 - 12.

E - 1.30
A
S - 2 - 2.45

E - 5.30
Bedtime 6pm.

Today, still the same wake-up, but he wouldn't take his first nap until 8-30, then his second nap he went down at 11-15 and only for 45 mins, then his 3rd nap he wouldn't go down until 2-30pm. And only for 45 mins.  yesterday was similar but his 3rd nap was even worse, i couldn't get him down until 3-30pm, after he woke from the last nap at 12!

Please can someone tell me if this is just a phase?!  I'm starting to go out of my mind having to fight him all day to sleep  :(

How's today been going?

I think I would shorter the A times as the day goes on if he's doing longer A times on the same short naps and see does that help you get a better 3rd nap like normal.  How does that sound?
