2year old molars and sleep
« on: October 26, 2010, 17:44:40 pm »
I think Madi's molars are finally going to cut. After two months of fussiness and crankiness, they better come. Anyhow, she has been really tired and can't stay up until her nap time.  She keeps telling me she a a boo boo but won't point to her mouth. I have capped her nap to 2hrs but now that she is teething and taking her nap a little earlier, should I let her sleep an extra 20mins? Did you ladies let your los sleep more when they were teething?

T's sleep needs were definitely higher when he was teething his 2yr molars and I did let him sleep as much as he wanted more or less.  It didn't bite us in the butt though so it worked out ok.  He was sleeping 11-12hrs at night and 2-2.5hrs during the day.  I wouldn't let him nap past 2.5hrs though if it got that far.  That was the highest sleep needs he's ever experienced, and after they were all in they dropped significantly again.

we never get more sleep with teeth, just quite a bit less so not got much experience on that but if she does seem to need it then yes let her have the extra 20 mins. Hope they come quickly xx
